The 55@5th Idea : A safe space
With a prayer room and a garden, I want to create a safe space.
- A safe space where a mother from a neighbouring town can wait for her children to finish sports or extra math class, or where a matric girl can wait for her transport back to the next town.
- A safe space where a mom can just come, sit down, and unwind after she dropped off her 3-year-old at daycare.
- A safe space where women can sit and have a chat and support each other in their journey through life.
- A safe space where men can sit and chat about life, responsibilities and the challenges life brings.
- A safe space for everyone to learn that it is okay to not be okay, to learn to reach out and help one another.
- A safe space where older people can come and visit us, have a cup of tea, tell us their stories, and teach us their wisdom.
- A safe space where you can reach out and ask, ‘Will you pray with me?’
- A safe space where you can sit down in peace and quiet, and just breathe until you feel calm again.
- A safe space where you can sell your handmade arts and crafts and not have to open your house and your personal space to strangers to have an income.
- A safe space where you can have a small birthday function at our lapa and swimming pool for your child’s birthday (or your own). We will arrange everything, and we will clean up afterwards.
- A safe space where you can ask for help if you are in a bad spot and need guidance or direction. We have a team of the best professionals on board that knows how to be discreet.
- Also…a safe space for bachelors to have a bedroom, WiFi and one meal a day without having to set up a whole house/flat just for one person.
- And…a safe space and someone you can trust to help you with admin work, like typing CV’s and letters.
